Don Antonucci 

President and Chief Executive Officer, Providence Health Plan

Don Antonucci is President and Chief Executive Officer of Providence Health Plan, a $2.5 billion provider-sponsored health plan serving approximately 400,000 members across Oregon, Washington and California. Providence Health Plan serves commercial, individual, Medicare and Medicaid markets and operates a pharmacy benefit manager.

Antonucci has more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience spanning health plans, technology and a broad range of commercial and government markets. Prior to joining Providence Health Plan in 2021, he served as Senior Vice President of Growth at Blue Shield of California, where he held P&L responsibility for business lines and sales across the $20 billion-plus, 4.6 million-member organization. He previously served as President of Regence BlueShield in Washington and President of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, and held leadership roles with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Throughout his career, Antonucci has focused on healthcare transformation, growth, operational performance and developing innovative approaches to improving affordability and the consumer experience. He is also actively engaged in the evolving role of technology and artificial intelligence in healthcare and serves as an advisor to several healthcare AI companies.

Antonucci has been recognized by Becker’s Healthcare among its Great Leaders in Healthcare in both 2025 and 2026 and was named a 2024 Portland Business Journal Executive of the Year CEO honoree. He has served on numerous industry and community boards, including the American Heart Association Western States Board and the American Hospital Association’s Provider-Led Health Plan Strategic Leadership Group.

He holds a master’s degree in public policy analysis and administration from Binghamton University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York College at Cortland.
